A silver Mini Cooper failed to stop at the traffic light at Highway 62 and Indian Canyon about 5 p.m. yesterday, and slammed into the rear of a red Dodge pick-up truck, according to the California Highway Patrol. The driver of the Mini Cooper had to be rescued using the Jaws of Life and suffered moderate injuries and was taken to a local hospital. The driver of the pick-up truck declined treatment, according to Riverside County Fire. Both cars were totaled and towed. Southbound lanes of Highway 62 were blocked off for about 45 minutes while police and fire cleared the scene.
