A LECTURE ON MINING IN THE DESERT IN TWENTYNINE PALMS FRIDAY EVENING

Did you know that there are 288 abandoned mine sites in the Joshua Tree National Park? Dr. D. D. Trent shares this and much more about the history of mining in the Park and the surrounding region in his lecture at the Old Schoolhouse Museum, Friday, December 12, at 7 p.m. Dr. Trent has a Ph. D in geology, is a Professor Emeritus at Citrus College and co-author of the book “Joshua Tree National Park Geology.” If you wish to have dinner with the doctor prior to the lecture, there’s an optional dinner planned at 5 p.m. at the 29 Palms Inn. Attendees are responsible for their own meal and space is limited.
