29 PALMS ART GALLERY APPRECIATES THEIR VOLUNTEERS

A “Rise-and-Shine” volunteer appreciation breakfast was held at the 29 Palms Art Gallery on Saturday, September 20. The event celebrated nearly 30 volunteers and docents who help to keep the doors open at the gallery and gift shop throughout the year. A Founders Award was presented to board member Vickie Waite for her many years of service, providing more than 20 years of publicity for the gallery, including the newsletter, press releases, and website, and for being a positive public face of the gallery out in the community. Volunteer of the Year was awarded to longtime Twentynine Palms resident artist Audrey Gillick, for giving more than 30 years of volunteer service and talent to the gallery and to the Hi-Desert art community. The Gold Crown award was presented to Ed Keesling of Yucca Valley, a past president of the Guild’s board, who has chaired and re-energized the Education Committee over the past several years.
